“Dog owners!! A game changer”

DOG OWNERS!! This towel is a game changer!!! I reluctantly had to use my brand new Actv8 towel on my wet sandy dog because I was desperate, & I am so happy I did!! My dog is 57kgs & this towel is the best thing I have used on him. I have spent a lot of money on microfibre pet towels & they don’t even come close. Not only did it dry him easily, but what is usually a two towel job, was done with one towel. I will definitely be buying him a towel of his own!! Such a great quality product!!!

“One each for our 50kg pups”

We ordered four towels, one each for our 50kg pups. The absorbency continues to amaze us every time.

“Clean and cool seats”

I love these towels for keeping my car seats clean and cool, for myself and my dog.

“Bought all three designs”

The zip pocket is amazing, I can keep all my dog accessories in one place! The paw design on the back I love and the colour combinations are stunning. I have two dogs and bought all three designs because the quality is incredible. Matched the Dune with the Freda and it looks perfect. Highly recommend for any dog owner!

A car seat towel made for dogs

Throw one of our dog car seat towels over the seat before he gets in, and the mud, the fur and the creek water end up in the towel, not your upholstery. Unzip the hood, pull it over the headrest, and it stays where you put it instead of ending up in the footwell. At 150 × 70 cm it covers the whole seat without an obvious overhang, and there's nothing to strap on or measure.

Dry him with it first, then put it on the seat for the drive home. One towel for both jobs, and when you're done it goes in with the washing.

Dog car seat towel or a seat cover?

Think about what a seat cover actually becomes. It goes on once, after a long installation, and then it lives in the car. Most of them aren't machine washable, so it never really gets cleaned. Grease, mud and grit settle in. Six months later nobody wants that seat, dog or not, because it ends up dirty and smelly.

Ours works the other way round. One pull and it's off, into the wash and back on the next morning. The fabric is odour-resistant, so it doesn't stink after use.

A zip pocket for the lead, treats and keys

Zip the hood closed and it turns into a 22 × 16 cm pocket. The lead goes in it, so does a roll of poo bags and your dog's favourite toy. You shouldn't need full hands or an extra bag when you're walking your dog.

Cotton holds water. Recycled micro-terry moves it.

Recycled micro-terry lifts the water off his coat instead of pushing it around, dries quickly, and lets go of the fur in the wash rather than carrying it through three cycles. It resists the odour that turns a car into a kennel, and it's dry enough to use again the next day.

Two dogs, or one for you too?

The 2-Pack lets you pick any two designs, and the Family Bundle lets you pick four. Both are on the dog car seat towel page. For your own seat after the beach or the gym, see our car seat towels.

FAQ

Dog car seat towel questions

No, and that's deliberate. Waterproof gear keeps the wet off your seat by trapping it on top or displacing the mud, fur and water off your seats, which means the damp, the smell and the grit all sit there until you deal with them. This takes the water into the fabric instead, and it holds a great deal before any of it reaches your upholstery. Do not expect this towel to soak in a significant amount of water and then keep your seats dry.

The hood is sized to sit snugly over a headrest, so the towel is held at the top of the seat instead of sitting loose on it, and the 150 cm length reaches the base of the seat. People who tried other car seat towels first tend to mention that theirs ended up too short, or sides overhung until it was trapped in their door. A dog that actively digs or attacks at the seat will still shift it, and if that's your dog, buy a strapped-in cover instead of a towel.

Yes, and more usefully it lets the hair go again afterwards. Recycled micro-terry grips fur while it's dry, then a shake or a wash removes it, which is the opposite of a cotton towel that carries the same hair through several cycles. Shake it out before you wash it and most of the fur never gets that far.

The Actv8 towel is designed to fit most standard car seats. The hood will fit the headrest, and if you find there is too much slack, you can use the zip to adjust the width.

You can, and it washes clean, but be honest about whether you want to. If you're confident in your wash, go for it. Once the dog has had a few trips on it, most people would rather not share. If you want one for him and one for you, that's what the two-pack is for.

It resists odour, so nothing builds up between washes. This is where a permanent fixture falls down: a soaking dog climbs onto it every week, nothing ever comes out again, and eventually the car smells like the thing you bought to protect it.

Depends what you're comparing them against. Next to an old bath towel, comfortably: a bath towel slides onto the floor, soaks through anything, and starts to smell by the third trip. Next to a fitted cover it's a straight trade. You give up a fully sealed barrier, and you get something that doubles as a beach towel and keeps your belongings in the zip pocket. Plus it's odour-resistant, so it won't stink after a few uses.
