Sticking to a Training Ritual: Our Top Tips
Sticking to a training ritual can be challenging, but with the right tips and tricks, it can become a part of your daily routine. Here are some of the tips that we use to make sure we stick to our training goals:
  • Win the morning, win the day: We believe in the motto that if we sleep in, we'll feel less motivated and have a lack of energy for the rest of the day. That's why we make sure to exercise and drink coffee by 6.15am.
  • Set specific and measurable goals: Having clear and defined goals helps keep us motivated and focused on what we want to achieve.
  • Find a training buddy or join a group: Having accountability partners makes it easier to get out of bed and get to the gym on time. They also provide motivation and support and make for great workout companions.
  • Create a schedule: We plan our training sessions in advance and schedule them into our day, just like any other important appointment.
  • Mix up your routine: To avoid boredom, we switch up our workout routine, try new exercises, or change the location of our workouts. For example, we go surfing with a few friends a couple of times a week and call it "Wonderful Wednesdays" or "Friday Fundays."
  • Make it a habit and love it: Telling ourselves positive things about working out can encourage us to keep moving. Even when running or climbing stairs, we remind ourselves of how good it feels to be in nature.
  • Give yourself a reward: After each workout, we treat ourselves to a healthy snack or a new workout outfit to stay motivated. Making working out a regular habit, like brushing our teeth or taking a shower, can make it feel like a natural part of our daily routine.
  • Track progress: Keeping a record of our progress, whether through a fitness app, journal, or calendar, helps us see the progress we're making and stay motivated.
  • Be consistent: We stick to a regular training schedule, even if it means going to the gym or working out at home every day or every other day. Consistency is key.
